Panasonic Toughbook CF-18

The Panasonic Toughbook CF-18 is a rugged tablet laptop.  This laptop is not only small measuring only 1.9" (H) x 10.7" (W) x 8.5" (D) it comes with all the features of a ruggedized laptop.  We found this brochure which describes the specifications in general.  This laptop converts easily into a tablet with a swivel of the screen.  Here is what Panasonic says about this laptop:

"With one quick swivel, the wireless Toughbook 18 transforms from a fully-rugged maximum-performance notebook PC to a fully-rugged handwriting-friendly tablet PC. Take handwritten notes, mark and edit documents and draw diagrams. It even converts handwriting to printed text. The Toughbook 18-tough times two."

Panasonic has declared this model discountinued.  The replacement for this model is the Toughbook CF-19.  Which is basically the same features except that they include the newest processors and larger hard drives.

• Shock-mounted removable hard drive in stainless steel case

• Wireless ready for Cingular, Sprint and Verizon Wireless networks

Another nice feature to notice in this model is how lightweight the laptop is when you consider that it is a ruggedized laptop.  Other laptop models just as ruggedized are heavier and larger.
